Welcome parents, students and faculty to the new 2016-2017 academic year. I have exciting news to share! Last year for the first time in AAG history, five high school students taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses in Biology, English and Art scored the qualifying level 3 from the United States College Board. With guidance from their dedicated AP teachers these five students earned college credits, developed exceptional study management skills, and improved their test taking abilities gaining self confidence and preparing them for the future rigors of university. Our hats are off to the five fine students as we congratulate them on their achievement!
As principal I will work hard to provide a safe, challenging, and positive learning environment promoting respect, productivity, and active participation in school activities. My focus for the 2016-2017 is academics first and membership and participation in extra curriculum activities outside of the classroom second. Valuable input from students under the keen direction and supervision from our experienced teachers, activities such as; Model United Nations, Student Council and the National Honor Society contribute to the school community through charitable projects developing social awareness and student self-worth. Our elective courses offered to seniors; Business Management with INJAZ and Career Planning encourage individual entrepreneurial skills; fostering self-reliance, creativity and fiscal responsibility.
Through planning, hard work and an appreciation for education, I will strive to make the 2016-2017 school year both exciting and rewarding. Working together with parents and faculty I promise to do my best at empowering our high school students to become well rounded, respectful and appreciative young adult women.
